Siena Women's Golf finished round one of the Lonnie Barton Invitational tied for sixth place but only four strokes away from second. They dropped four strokes off their first round score in the second round to finish the Invitational in second place.
Kristen Bromley, Victoria Nguyen and Katie Nelson all finished in the top-10 individually. Bromley led the pack finishing tied for sixth, the same place she held after the first round. She led all golfers on par 5 holes, shooting a -1 on those holes for the Invitational. She also led all golfers with four birdies.
Nguyen and Nelson finished tied for 8th, with Nelson moving 17 spots up the leaderboard for that finish. Nguyen lead all golfers with 26 pars for the invitational, while Nelson finished second among all golfers with three birdies.
Siena used the second-best team score of the round to rise three spots up the leaderboard and finish the Invitational second. Long Island finished first, beating the Saints by 11 strokes. The Saints finished three strokes ahead of third place UAlbany, who was picked to win the MAAC Championship this year.
The three other MAAC schools participating, Quinnipiac, Monmouth and Fairfield, finished tied for eight, 11th and 12th respectively.
The Saints are next in action in April, participating in the Brown University Invite April 12th-13th.
