Women's Golf Looks to Keep Pace With Pack Leaders

Siena Women's Golf is in sixth place after the first round of the Lonnie Barton Invitational. Kristen Bromley is tied for sixth individually to lead the Saints.

Bromley used strong scoring on the Par 5's to keep herself near the top of the leaderboard, shooting a 2-under on those holes. She also led all golfers with three birdies on the round. Victoria Nguyen is two strokes behind Bromley after scoring 13 pars on he day, which was good for third among all golfers. Katie Nelson rounds out the top three tied for 25th overall.

The Saints are currently sit in sole possession of sixth, but are only four strokes behind second place UAlbany. Monmouth, Quinnipiac and Fairfield, the other three MAAC schools competing, are 10th, 11th and 12th, respectively. St. John's currently sits in first place and has a 15-stroke lead on UAlbany.

Bromley is currently tied with UAlbany's Paige Fujihara for the lead among MAAC Individuals. St. John's currently holds the top three golfers with Daniella Castandeda leading the way among individuals.

Action resumes tomorrow with shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m.
