Final Stats

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Marist held Siena Women's Basketball to season lows in both scoring and field goal percentage, stymying the Saints 66-37 at McCann Arena. Sophomore guard Kollyns Scarbrough led the Saints with 11 points.

Siena (11-10, 8-3) shot just 22.6% (14-62) from the field and missed 18 of their 19 three-point attempts in suffering their 25th straight loss to perennial power Marist (10-11, 9-2) which has captured 10 of the last 12 MAAC Championships. 23 of the Red Foxes' 25 wins during their streak have come by double figures and by an average margin of 18.4 points.

Sixth-year senior Tori Jarosz joined the national lead with her 16th double-double, finishing with 19 points and 16 rebounds for Marist which has won six straight. A game after scoring her 1,000th career point, Jarosz reached another milestone by becoming the program's all-time career leader in blocks and finished with six rejections on the night.

Marist doubled-up Siena 32-16 at the half and ultimately bridged the second and third quarters with 16 unanswered points to open a 24-point advantage not long after the break. The Red Foxes' stifling defense, which limited the Saints to just 16.7% (5-30) shooting in the first half, ultimately held Siena scoreless for 8:59 and without a field goal for 12:32.

Marist shot 8-13 (61.5%) from distance in the second half in building as much as a 31-point lead to improve to 205-26 in the MAAC including 107-10 in Poughkeepsie since the start of the 2003-04 season.

Freshman guard Deja Rawls contributed nine points and three steals and junior captain Meghan Donohue added seven points and eight rebounds for Siena which has dropped three of four since having opened conference play 7-0 for the first time in 14 years.

Preseason First Team All-MAAC selection Sydney Coffey added 17 points and Ali Clement scored 10 for the Red Foxes which held a 48-33 edge in rebounding.

Siena will look to bounce back when they conclude their three-game road trip Saturday at Saint Peter's. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. from Jersey City, N.J.
