Final Stats

Siena Volleyball fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-23) to Fairfield on the road. The Stags have held off Siena twice this season.

Fairfield went up 9-4 in the first set. After calling a timeout, Siena chipped away at the lead and trailed 15-10. The Stags then went on a 5-0 run to take a 20-10. Fairfield took the first set 25-17.

Siena started the second set on a 3-0 run. The two conference foes exchanged points back and forth for most of the second set. Neither team would let the other take the lead as each fought hard for the point. After trailing just 23-20, Fairfield took the next two points to take the second set 25-20.

The Saints would not give up and came out even stronger in the third set. Fairfield continued to hold the advantage and Siena could not catch up. It was a hard fought battle as the conference foes looked to gain the advantage in the conference standings. Siena came back and trailed 23-20. Fairfield took the third set and match with a 25-23 win.

Briana Flagg led the Saints with seven kills, while Samantha Pethokoukis added five. Haley Howell dished out 22 assists for the Saints. Kalehua Katagiri recorded 13 digs.

Siena continues their weekend road trip on Sunday, Oct. 16 at Quinnipiac. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
