Siena finished the Catholic Invite today in sixth place, scoring 168 total points. Boston College won the meet.
The Saints opened day two with a 13th place finish in the 200yd medley relay (1:59.20). Fiona Dretzka, Larissa Nanna, Emma Rupert, and Katie Ludwicki competed for Siena in the relay.
Freshman Rachel Brown had a strong day in the pool for the Saints. Brown picked up five points for the Saints with a 12th place finish in the 200yd freestyle (2:02.24). Brown finished eighth in the 100yd backstroke later in the meet (1:03.35) and added a sixth place finish in the 200yd backstroke (2:15.50).
In the 100yd breaststroke, junior Erica Askew finished ninth (1:11.61) and Nanna scored four points with a 13th place finish (1:12.31). Askew added a seventh place in the 200yd breaststroke (2:33.41) later in the day, while Nanna finished in tenth (2:36.17).
Carrie Bonvissuto (11:15.71) and Emma Rupert (11:21.24) scored for Siena with 11th and 12th place finishes respectively in the 1000yd freestyle.
Siena closed out the day with a sixth place in the 400yd freestyle relay (3:46.02). Brown, Maggie Fletcher, Alyssa Lewis, and Francesca Tinucci swam for the Saints in the event.
Siena will be back in the pool for its first home meet of the season on Wednesday, October 19 at 7 p.m. against Holy Cross. Holy Cross finished just ahead of Siena in fifth at the Catholic Invite.
