LOUDONVILLE, N.Y.- Siena Swimming defeated the visiting Merrimack Warriors 122-73 on Saturday. The Saints recorded the top time in each of the meet's 11 events to secure their first dual meet victory this season. Freshman Rachel Brown won two individual races for Siena.
The Saints swam to a victory in the first event, the 200 medley relay with a team of Fiona Dretzka, Larissa Nanna, Elizabeth Fournier, and Alyssa Lewis. Freshman Carrie Bonvissuto finished first in the next race, the 1000 freestyle (11:15.86).
Brown captured her first victory of the day in the 200 freestyle (2:00.07) and tacked on another first place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:14.07) later in the meet.
Francesca Tinucci kept the wins coming for the Saints in the 50 freestyle (26.04). Teammate Dretzka swam to a first place finish in the 200 IM (2:17.30) in the next event, before Fournier took the 200 butterfly (2:16.50) for Siena.
Freshman Katie Ludwicki scored a first place finish in the 100 freestyle (56.33). Emma Rupert added a win in the 500 freestyle (5:23.91).
Erica Askew recorded the best time in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.78). The Saints closed out the meet with the best time in the 400 freestyle relay with a team of Ludwicki, Maggie Fletcher, Maggie Davenport, and Lewis.
Siena will now head to West Long Branch, N.J. next Saturday, November 19, to face MAAC foes Monmouth and Manhattan at 1 p.m.
