Box Score Sept. 3, 2016 Final Stats
Siena Volleyball finished up their time at the Beantown Challenge against Georgia. The Saints were swept 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-16) to the Lady Bulldogs.
Georgia took the advantage in the first set early as they held a 7-3 lead. Siena chipped away at the lead and brought the score within one as they trailed 11-10, but the Lady Bulldogs then went on a 3-0 run for a 14-10 lead. The Saints played close and trailed just 19-16 in the first set. Georgia went on a 6-0 run to take the first set 25-16.
Siena started off strong in the second set as they took the first three points. The Saints continued to remain in control with an 11-7 lead over the Lady Bulldogs. Georgia was able to tie the set 11-11 right before the jumped into a 13-11 lead. Both teams continued to battle for the victory and SEC team Georgia was able to take a 2-0 lead with a 25-16 win in set two.
The Saints and Georgia exchanged points back and forth to begin the third set. The Lady Bulldogs went on a 5-0 run to take the lead in the third set 12-7. Siena continued to fight back to regain the advantage. Georgia would take the third set 25-16 and win the match.
Annie Stock set a new career-high five service aces for Siena. Brittney Herrick led the Saints with six kills, while Briana Flagg and Shantraie Rodriguez added five. Haley Howell dished out 17 assists in the match, while Kalehua Katagiri recorded 13 digs.
Siena continues their road trips as they head to the Syracuse Tournament from Sept. 9-10. The Saints go up against Penn State on Sept. 9 followed by Syracuse and Hofstra on Sept. 10. First serve against the Nittany Lions is set for 10 a.m.
