After leading just slightly 8-7, Rider went on a 5-0 run to take a 13-7 lead. The Broncs would continue to add to their lead after a 7-1 run for a 24-11 lead. Siena kept the Broncs from reaching the set point on as they took the next five points, but a bad set by the Saints gave Rider the 25-16 win.
Rider started the second set off quick and went up 7-0. Siena was able to get into the set, but was forced to take a timeout down 12-4. The Broncs continued to add to their lead and held onto a 23-14 advantage. Like the first set, Siena began their comeback and took the next three points before a service error and attack error led to the Broncs second set victory.
The third set started with a lot of back and forth action between the league foes. The Broncs jumped ahead up 13-8 early in the set. After two kills, a service ace and a Siena attack error, Rider took the 20-10 lead. The Broncs rounded out the match with a 25-13 win.
Siena heads over to Jersey City, New Jersey to take on Saint Peter's on Sunday, October 8. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
