Siena Volleyball dropped both matches to finish their time at the Holly Young Invitational on Saturday. The Saints fell to Dartmouth 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18) before falling to Rhode Island 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-19).

Match One vs. Dartmouth: Dartmouth 3 - Siena 0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18)

Junior outside hitter Antonija Ivanovic tallied a season-high 11 kills for Siena (0-10). Freshman setter Jessica Eblin dished out 21 assists, while freshman libero Jojo Ishida recorded 10 digs.

Mallen Bischoff notched a double-double with a match-high 14 kills and 10 dogs. Tori Dozer dished out 18 assists for Dartmouth (4-4) in the victory.

Siena started out strong behind the serving of Eblin as the Saints went up 8-2 early in the first set. Dartmouth was able to trail by just one, 14-13, but again behind Eblin's serving the Saints went up 18-14. The Big Green continued to fight and make a comeback until the set was all tied up at 22. Dartmouth then took the final three points to take the first set 25-22.

The Big Green took the first two points in the second set and never trailed from that point on. Siena fought hard to come back and trailed 8-7, but Dartmouth used one service ace, two Siena attack errors and a kill by Carly Tower to go up 12-7 before the Saints called a timeout. Dartmouth continued to add to their lead and went up 2-0 in the match with a 25-18 win in the second set.

Dartmouth started off with a quick 3-0 lead in the third set, but Ishida's serving put the Saints on the board and tied up 3-3. It would be an exchange of points back and forth between the two foes but the Big Green took their largest lead of the match off a 7-0 run for a 20-11 lead. Siena would continue to battle but the Dartmouth took the final set and match on a 25-18 third set victory.

Match Two vs. URI: Rhode Island 3 - Siena 0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-19)

Junior outside hitter Ivanovic led the Saints with six kills, while both Karli Rodriguez and Dakota Jackson added five. Jessica Eblin recorded 18 assists for Siena (0-11).

Kylee Wolfe tallied a match-high 10 kills for URI (5-7). Lauren Pick and Annie Ell combined for 32 assists, with Pick recording 20.

It was a tight first set with neither team being able to take the opening advantage. Rhode Island then went on a 4-1 run last in the set to take a 17-13 lead. It wasn't long before the Saints jumped right back into it and trailed just 23-21, but the Rams took the next two points to take the set 25-21.

The Rams started off quickly in the second set taking the first four points which caused the Saints to use their first time out. Siena battled back, but not before Rhode Island would jump back out to a 20-10 lead late in the set. URI went up 2-0 in the match with a 25-13 win in the second set.

Rhode Island jumped out again to a 3-0 lead, but the Saints came right back and tied it all up at five. The two teams would exchange points back and forth with neither taking a clear advantage over the other. After taking a decisive 17-14 lead, the Rams went on a 4-0 run to take a 21-14 advantage over the Saints. Siena continued to cut the deficit, but not before Rhode Island got to 25 points to take the set 25-19 and the match 3-0.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Antonija Ivanovic was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Siena heads home to the Capital District for their home conference opener as they host league rival Marist on Tuesday, September 19. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
