The second set would be the best fought of the afternoon, as both teams hit runs of four or more points to keep things close. Siena used a 4-0 run to take a 22-19 lead late in the set. Just a few points away from a set win, the green and gold would see Rider tie the set at 22-22 before Siena nabbed a point on a Rider attack error for a 23-22 lead. But Rider would grab the last three points of the set, winning 25-23 to take a 2-0 lead.

Siena would struggle in the third set early, creating an early deficit. A 14-0 run opened up an 18-4 lead for Rider. But Siena didn't give up, as they slowly worked their way back within striking distance. The Saints were able to bring the score to 23-18 before Rider finished things off with a pair of points to take the 25-18 win, for the 3-0 match victory.
