The Siena Saints women's tennis team got their 2019 portion of their schedule underway in a big way Friday afternoon, as they faced off against the Colgate Raiders at the Drummins Tennis Club in Syracuse, NY. They did not surrender a set, defeating the Raiders 7-0, as senior Anessa Leyva was the standout player from the four position.

"The ladies worked hard today and played well, especially in doubles today," said head coach Jeff Osborn. "I'm looking forward to working hard and hopefully staying healthy for a good spring season."

Kylie Mullaney and Megan Brown each handedly won their singles and double matches from the top two positions, while Leyva and Anne Phillips took victory in doubles as well. Julianna Goehner stepped in at the six, and took victory as well in both doubles with Dilara Spicer, and in singles for Spicer. Nanea Perkins and Laura Becker each also won their singles matches to complete the sweep.

The Saints return to action next weekend in Buffalo when they face off against St. Bonaventure and University of Buffalo.
