LOUDONVILLE, NY - The Siena Saints Women's Volleyball looks to get back to their winning ways on Sunday afternoon, as they play host to the Canisius Golden Griffins at the Alumni Recreation Center. Opening serve for the match is slated for 1 p.m. Siena has lost their previous two matches since defeating Saint Peter's on the road back on Sept. 29.

Juniors
Dakota Jackson and sophomore
Abby Huffman led the Siena Saints with nine kills each on Saturday afternoon, but the Saints would fall to the Niagara Purple Eagles by a final score of 3-0 (25-27, 19-25, 19-25) at the Alumni Recreation Center. Niagara's Jaycie Roberts picked up a double-double with 14 kills and 19 digs.
Backing up the two nine-kill efforts was freshman
Maria Llinas, tossing out 35 assists on the day. Freshman
Ally-Reese Williams and
Sol Guidarelli each smacked seven kills apiece, with sophomore
Maddy Dunigan smacking six kills. Freshman
Gracie Halley led the team with nine digs on the match.
The last time the Saints and Golden Griffins met last season on October 20, 2018, the Green and Gold would fall to Canisius in Buffalo by a final of 3-0.
Nicole Deobler led the Saints with six kills,
Jessica Eblin tossed out 13 assists, and
Antonija Ivanovic collected five digs.
As a team, the Saints rank 2nd in the MAAC in both assists per set (11.36) and kills per set (12.29). Individually, freshman
Maria Llinas ranks among the best setters in the conference, as she ranks fourth in assists per set (9.07) and third in total assists (517). Defensively, sophomore
Maddy Dunigan currently ranks second in the MAAC in blocks per set (0.94), nearly averaging one block per set.
Siena and Canisius meet for the 50th time in these program's history, with the Golden Griffins owning a 32-17 advantage over the Saints in the previous 49 meetings. The Green and Gold last topped the Golden Griffs in a 3-1 win in the Alumni Recreation Center on Nov. 5, 2017.
