Ten things to know for Saturday's game versus the Purple Eagles:
  • Niagara is one of two league opponents (Canisius) that Siena will only face once during the regular season this year. The 2018-19 season marks the final campaign that the MAAC will feature 18 league games, with the conference returning to a 20-game format for the 2019-20 season.
  • The Saints suffered a tough loss at the hands of Fairfield Thursday evening, with the Stags completing a season sweep with a 66-40 victory. Redshirt-senior Aaliyah jones went for double figures for the 10th time this season, leading the squad with 17 points.
  • Following last Thursday's win over Iona, Head Coach Ali Jaques moved within one victory of becoming the third Siena head coach in program history to reach 100 wins at the school. Currently in her seventh year at the helm, Jaques holds a 99-116 all-time record.
  • Siena has accumulated a 292-218 (.573) record in MAAC play all-time, including a 62-68 (.477) outcome under head coach Ali Jaques.
  • For the second consecutive year, Siena was picked to finish third in the MAAC in the Preseason Coaches' Poll, with Maddie Sims (Second Team) and Aaliyah Jones (Third Team) earning Preseason All-MAAC honors.
  • Adding three assists to her total last Saturday against Monmouth, senior Deja Rawls sits in 13th place all-time in the category with 300. Rawls needs 22 more helps to tie Siena Athletics Hall of Famer Gunta Basko (1999-03, 322) for 12th.
  • Maddie Sims is now tied for 9th place all-time in program history in blocks with 87. The junior needs one swat to pass Bronwyn Tobin (87, 1996-00) for sole possession of ninth place and seven to tie Ann Marie Graney (1981-95, 94) for eighth.
  • Maddie Sims currently leads all players in the MAAC in double-doubles, with six so far this season, including four in conference play.
  • Siena holds a 47-31 all-time record against Niagara, in a series that began in 1978. After being swept in last year's regular season series, the No. 3 ranked Saints took down the No. 6 seeded Purple Eagles, 71-60, in the 2018 MAAC Tournament quarterfinals.
  • The team went 12-15 (80 %) from the floor in the fourth quarter of a win over Iona on Feb. 7, giving them statistically their best period this season and their most efficient quarter since shooting 88.9 percent (8-9) in the second stanza of a loss against Quinnipiac on Feb. 11, 2018.
