The Siena Saints got back to the court on Friday evening, as they began their three-day weekend swing in Pennsylvania. The Saints took the win in day one, as they slipped past Lafayette by a final score of 4-3.
In doubles, Siena took courts 1 and 2 thanks to the duos of
Kylie Mullaney and
Meagan Brown, as well as
Natalie Weaver and Anne Phillips.
Nanea Perkins and
Dilara Spicer tied things at court 3 1-1, but the match was stopped once the Saints clinched the winning point.
In singles, Siena went up 2-0 after Weaver won in three sets, but Lafayette came back to tie it up at 2-2. Siena took courts 3 and 5 to win the match when Spicer clinched the match on court five.
"Today was a bit of a struggle for our women hoping to see some better play Saturday and Sunday," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "But, they were able to hold it together to get the win."
The Saints return to the court on tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 16 when they take on La Salle in Day two of their Pennsylvania swing.
