The Siena Saints men's tennis team commenced day two of a Pennsylvania swing this weekend as they headed to Philadelphia to face the La Salle Explorers. The Green and Gold would fall, dropping the match 5-2.
In doubles, the men played strong taking two of three courts to take the first point going into singles. It would be freshman Tomas Del Olmo stepping up with
Guillermo Torres in the number one doubles to help aid the effort.
In singles, Del Olmo played a great match at 2 singles winning in 3 sets. Courts 3 and 4 were very close but each lost in 3rd set, as Torres and Mohammad Sawani would fall opening the door for the Explorers. They would take the remaining singles matches, taking the win.
"The guys played hard today but lost in a couple of close matches that could have went either way," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "It was tough one today for sure."
The Saints return to action on Sunday, Feb. 18 for the third and final day of competition in Pennsylvania, as they are set to face Lehigh at 10 a.m.
