Siena Women's Golf senior
Sara Riso shot +2, 74 to lead the Saints individually, finishing day one at the MSU Citrus Classic in a five-way split for ninth place. Overall, Siena combined for +24, 312 in the opening round of its second event of the Spring 2019 season to sit in seventh heading into round two.
Competing at the tournament at the par-72, 5929-yard course at the Red Tail Golf Club in Sorrento, Florida for the second year in a row, the team finished two strokes behind Cleveland State (+22, 310), and two in front of host school Morehead State (+26, 314).
Sophomore
Grace Cuttone hole a pair of birdies to shoot +4, 76 on the first 18 holes, landing in a knot for 14th place with four other golfers. Right behind her is classmate
Abigail Chai-Onn, who finished the day +5, 77, in a seven-way split for 19th. Rounding out the Saints' five-man competing squad were senior
Ashley Nguyen and freshman
Lena Kaufman, who each went +13, 85 to tie for 51st place.
Day two of the 2019 MSU Citrus Classic kicks off Monday morning with tee times beginning at 8:30 AM. Kaufman will begin play at that time at hole one for the Saints, with the other four competitors teeing off in nine-minute intervals thereafter.
