TROY, NY – The Siena Saints men's tennis team ended their winless drought on Sunday afternoon, as they rolled to a 6-1 victory over the Niagara Purple Eagles at Hudson Valley Community College. With the win, the Saints now sit in a chance to make the MAAC Championships with a win next weekend.
Clinching the victory would be
Guillermo Torres on court 3, as he took a three set win 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Matt Bellino would take the easiest win on the day at Court 6, taking a 6-1, 6-1 victory. In doubles, Torres and
Tomas del Olmo got the ball rolling with a 6-1 win at Court 1 doubles. But the Saints took all three courts in doubles, taking the initial point.
Siena returns to the court on Saturday, April 20 when they take on Fairfield in their MAAC finale of the season. First serve against the Stags will get things going at 11 a.m.
