LOUDONVILLE - The Siena Women's Basketball schedule has begun to take shape for the upcoming 2019-20 season, as the MAAC has released the league schedule on Wednesday morning.
 
The MAAC has gone to a new 20 game slate, up from 18 a year ago, with each team playing twice throughout the season. As it stands, the Green and Gold will play 18 of the 20 scheduled games on Thursday or Sunday.
 
Highlighting the slate for the Saints is an opening two game home stand where they play host to Fairfield on Jan. 2, followed by a matchup with the three-time defending MAAC Champion Quinnipiac at the Alumni Recreation Center on Jan. 4. Siena's return game with the Bobcats will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8 in Hamden.
 
Also highlighting the schedule a three game home stand where they Saints will take on Monmouth (Jan. 23), Niagara (Jan. 30), and Canisius (Feb. 1), the longest stretch at home during the slate. Senior Day for the Saints is slated for the home finale on Saturday, Feb. 29 when the Saints host the Iona Gaels.
 
The Saints will first match up with the Marist Red Foxes on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the ARC, while the series finale will conclude their season on the road in Poughkeepsie on Saturday, Mar. 7. The Green and Gold will also matchup with the defending MAAC Player of the Year Stella Johnson and the Rider Broncs on the road Jan. 18 before hosting them in Loudonville on Feb. 13.
 
The MAAC season concludes with the 2020 MAAC Basketball Championships, March 10-14, at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. The conference champion earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. This is the first season in Atlantic City after a five-year run at the Times Union Center in Albany. Albany had previously hosted 20 of the 30 MAAC Championships over Siena's 30 seasons in the league.

The Saints complete 2019-20 schedule including it's non-conference opponents will be released in the coming weeks, with final plans for the schedule being finalized.
