HANOVER, NH – Competing in its second event and first tournament of the 2019 season, Siena women's golf landed in 11
th place out of the 13-team field in day one of the Dartmouth Invitational Saturday. The Saints shot +36, 324 at the Hanover Country Club, finishing 28 strokes behind field leader Harvard (+8, 296).
Competing at the event for the 16
th year in a row, Siena was led by junior
Grace Cuttone, who ended round one of the 36-hole event in an 11-way split for 30
th place with +6, 78. Classmate
Abigail Chai-Onn followed behind, knotting six other golfers for 48
th place individually at +8, 80.
Freshmen
Kaity Rittner and
Isabella Diaz each made their collegiate tournament debuts on the par 72, 5872-yard course, shooting 81 & 85, respectively, to finish in ties for 55
th and 65
th. Senior captain
Marisa Fiorina rounded out the team's five-women competition squad in 75
th with 90.
Siena will look to take home a top-10 finish in the conclusion of the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday, September 15. Play will commence with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., with the Saints beginning from tees 11-14.
