The Siena Saints volleyball team continued their strong play as of late, as they snagged their first true road win of the season over the Binghamton Bearcats in straight sets (25-23, 25-20, 25-23) Wednesday night. Junior
Nicole Deobler showed out strong with a nine kill, four service ace performance on the match.
Freshman
Ally-Reese Williams shined with double-digit kills for the seventh time in eight matches, collecting 13 kills with seven in the first set. She would also finish with nine digs, falling just short of her third career double-double. Sophomore
Maddy Dunigan added in five kills, as nine different Saints ended the match registering at least one kill. Freshman

For Binghamton, Audrey Haworth put up 10 kills, while Tyra Wilsona and Victoria Keghlian each added eight. Defensively for the Bearcats, Kim Lavender had a match-high 11 digs, and setter Kiara Adams passed around 35 assists.
"Anytime you can get a sweep on the road you are doing something well," said head coach
Vilis Ozols. "I thought we served really tough and our serve-receive was set up for our setters to run a very efficient offense."
The Bearcats came out strong in the first set, owning as much as a four-point lead late, 20-16. But the Saints quickly chipped back within two from a Binghamton error and
Justine Torre ace to make it 20-18. After a couple Binghamton points to make it 22-19, the Green and Gold went on a 5-0 run with three kills to bring up set point at 24-22. The Bearcats would sneak in a point before Williams ended the set with a bang to give Siena the 1-0 lead. The second set would be all Saints, as Deobler and
Sol Guidarelli made the major contibutions, snagging a 23-16 lead. A late Binghamton push made it close, as the Saints took the 2-0 lead with a 25-20 win.
In the third set, Siena would run away with an 18-12 lead after trailing 12-11 after a 7-0 run which included a pair of kills from senior
Kelly Chaney. However, the Bearcats climbed back in the match and tied things up at 20-20. Next came a Bearcat error, giving Siena back the lead, which led to a Doebler kill and service ace from freshman
Madoka Weldon. Chaney would finish off the set after another Binghamton error to take the 25-23 win, sweeping the match.
Siena returns to the court this Saturday, September 28 when they continue MAAC play on the road as they face the Rider Broncs. First serve goes up at 4 p.m. in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
