Ten things you need to know in Siena's game vs. Canisius:
- The Green and Gold are currently competing in their fifth game in 10 days on Saturday and will complete the 10-day swing at Canisius on Saturday. Siena is 0-4 over the previous four games during this stretch.
- The Saints just completed first of three 11 AM games the Saints will partake in this season on Saturday at Niagara. They will also play at 11 AM next Thursday at home when they host Manhattan and will also play at 11 AM when they head to Manhattan on Feb. 6.
- The Saints have topped the Golden Griffins in eight of their last nine matchups since the start of the 2014-15 season
- Siena have gone 0-4 to start conference play for the first time since ever, and it is the most since 2014-15 when they began the MAAC slate 0-3. That season, the Saints would also lose to Fairfield then Quinnipiac, and then lose the third game to Marist. Siena would make their run with the "Magnificent 7" later in the season en route to the WBI title game where they would fall to Louisiana-Lafayette. That team would finish the season 22-13 overall with an 11-9 mark in the MAAC.
- The Saints have never begun a MAAC Schedule 0-4 in their history as a program. Siena is also currently on their longest MAAC losing streak since 2016 (nine losses), losing seven in a row. Siena's last conference win goes back to last season, winning in overtime in Western New York at Canisius.
- Senior
Sabrina Piper collected a near triple-double on Thursday morning, finishing with 12 rebounds, 9 points, and 9 assists in the Saints loss at Niagara.
- With Piper's 12 rebounds and
Amari Anthony's 10 rebounds, Thursday's game at Niagara was the first game this season Siena had two players in double-figure rebounds. Anthony's 10 rebounds were the second time she eclipsed double-digits boards in her career.
- As a team, the Saints snagged 21 offensive rebounds on Thursday at Niagara. That total would be the most rebounds in a game by the team since they nabbed 26 in a 59-58 OT loss at Army back on Nov. 27, 2011. In total that game, the Saints scooped 63 total rebounds.
- According to the NCAA, the Saints had the 57th hardest strength of schedule in non-conference action in the country this season.
- Additionally, the Saints have competed against one team currently in the top 100 RPI (Penn)
