Ten things you need to know in Siena's game vs. Saint Peter's:
- The Green and Gold are currently competing in their third game in five days on Monday, followed by games in Buffalo against Niagara (Thursday) and Canisius (Saturday) to complete a five games in 10 days swing to begin conference play.
- The Saints have won 18 straight games over the Peacocks and have gone undefeated over the
Ali Jaques era. The first win of the streak came back on January 24, 2011 at the Times Union Center as the Saints took a 65-52 win.
- Siena's winning streak over the Peacocks is the program's longest current winning streak over any program they have competed against in their history.
- According to the NCAA, the Saints had the 61
th hardest strength of schedule in non-conference action in the country this season.
- Additionally, the Saints have competed against two teams currently in the top 100 RPI (Penn & Colgate), while Saint Peter's has only faced one (Lehigh).
- Siena have gone 0-2 to start conference play for the first time since 2014-15, when they began the MAAC slate 0-3. That season, the Saints would also lose to Fairfield then Quinnipiac, and then lose the third game to Marist. Siena would make their run with the "Magnificent 7" later in the season en route to the WBI title game where they would fall to Louisiana-Lafayette. That team would finish the season 22-13 overall with an 11-9 mark in the MAAC.
- Sophomore
Haley Blasetti recorded her first collegiate block on Saturday afternoon against Quinnipiac. She even doubled up on the occasion, finishing with two. Also hitting a mark was
Rayshel Brown, who set a new season-high with 16 points against Quinnipiac. Brown's previous high was 15, which she did twice – each in her first two games wearing the Green and Gold.
- Senior
Sabrina Piper scored 11 points against Quinnipiac on Saturday afternoon. Piper has now scored in double-figures in all but one of Siena's matchups with season. She also leads the team in all offensive categories and sits 210 points away from 1,000 career points.
- With her appearance against Fairfield last Thursday, Piper also eclipsed the 100 games mark for her career. If she appears in every game the rest of the season for Siena, she will land fifth all-time on the games played list.
- Also averaging double-figure scoring is junior
Rayshel Brown. Through six games since she's been cleared to play, the Staten Island native is averaging 13.3 points, and has also scored in double figures in all but one game since joining the Saints.
