DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Siena Women's Golf begin its Spring 2020 season Monday, competing in round one of the 2020 Lonnie Barton Invitational at the LPGA International Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The Saints shot +49, 333 in round one to land in ninth of 14 competing teams. Fairleigh Dickinson (+17, 301) leads the pack, while MAAC rival Fairfield sits six strokes ahead of Siena in eighth and Niagara is in 12th.
Competing at the event for the sixth straight year, Siena saw sophomore Lena Kaufman shoot +8, 79 to land in a tie for 11th after one round. Junior Grace Cuttone followed behind at +10, 81 to land in a split for 22nd.
Junior Abigail Chai-Onn went +13, 84 on the par-72, 5917-yard course to finish in a tie for 36th, while freshman Isabella Diaz carded +18, 89 to end the day in a knot for 54th. Rounding out the Saints' five-women competition squad was freshman Ashlee Sample, who shot +21, 92 to end in a split for 62nd.
Siena will be back in action Tuesday morning for the final round of the Lonnie Barton Invitational.
