WALLINGFORD, CT – Siena Women's Golf began its fourth of five scheduled events during the Fall 2021 season Monday, taking part in the first two rounds of the Quinnipiac Classic at The Farms Country club in Wallingford, Connecticut.
The Saints (+37, 648) sit in eighth place in the 12-team field halfway through the event, with MAAC foe Quinnipiac (+31, 607) leading the field and conference rivals Fairfield (T-5
th), and Monmouth (10
th) also taking part. The team carded rounds of 323 and 325 on the Par-72, 6,110-yard course.
The Green and Golf were once again led by junior
Emily Nash, who turned in rounds of 78 and 81 to finish at 159, tied for 18
th individually. Freshman
Jillian Barend shot 82 and 80 to land in a split for 33
rd, while classmate
Manoela Barcellos shot 81 and 83 to finish in a split for 37
th. Junior
Isabella Diaz and senior
Lena Kaufman rounded out the team's five-woman competition squad with two round totals of 166 and 173, respectively, to finish the day in ties for 42
nd and 53
rd. Competing as an individual, sophomore
Margot Osterman shot 81 and 84 to finish at 165 in a tie for 40
th.
The Saints will conclude the event with tee time starts on Tuesday, October 11 beginning at 8:30 AM.
