WEST POINT, NY – Army West Point (3-1-1) defended their home turf against Siena Men's soccer (2-3) on the 20
th anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks Saturday evening, with the Black Knights taking a 5-0 victory at Malek Stadium at Clinton Field.
After getting on the board in the 19
th minute, Army West Point found the back of the net just seven minutes later and netted three insurance goals in the second half, with D'Anthony Brown scoring twice. The home team held an 18-6 shots advantage despite allowing Siena nine corner kicks to their eight.
Producing most of its offense in the latter part of the match, Siena got two shots each from sophomore
Bilal Hersi and freshman
Jacob Arachchige-Jensen, with both of the latter's attempts registering on-net. Senior goalkeeper
Greg Monroe made two saves in net, while freshman
Isak Endal spent 25 minutes in-between-the-pipes for his first collegiate action.
Siena will look to shake off a two-game losing skid when it hosts first-time opponent Merrimack at Hickey Field on Saturday, September 18 at 4:00 PM.
