LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Golf will commence its Fall 2021 season close to home by renewing an annual tradition with a longtime foe. The Saints will face off in match play with MAAC foe UAlbany in the Crosstown Challenge, held at Wolfert's Roost Golf Club in nearby Albany, New York at noon on Sunday, September 12.
The Saints, who enter the season following a pair of top-3 finishes and a seventh-place tally at the 2021 MAAC Championships, will kick off their first of five fall events in a return to a conventional fall campaign after the postponement of last year's fall action to the spring.
The Great Danes, who placed second at last year's conference championships as an associate member of the MAAC, have won each of the six previous Crosstown Challenge events, including a 302-318 win back in April. Each of the last four head-to-head matchups between the teams have been played at Wolfert's Roost.
Siena returns four letterwinners from last season, and will look to fill the void of 2021 All-MAAC finisher
Grace Cuttone, whom they lost to graduation. Junior
Emily Nash tied for the top spot individually at the Hawks Spring Series in the March, while senior
Lena Kaufman, junior
Isabella Diaz, and sophomore
Margot Osterman also saw steady action last season.
