ALBANY, NY – Siena Women's Golf saw its first action of the Fall 2021 season against a familiar foe, taking on crosstown and MAAC rival UAlbany in match play at Wolfert's Roost Golf Club in Albany. The Great Danes took a 308-332 victory in the 18-hole event.
The Great Danes took the top three individual scores of the event, with sophomore Amber Thornton leading the way with a 75, and sophomore Mariel Tee & freshman Claudia Blochliger each shooting 76.
Junior
Isabella Diaz led the Saints with +8, 80. Freshman
Jillian Barend followed behind at +9, 81 in her first tournament action for the Saints, while junior
Emily Nash shot +11, 83. Sophomore
Margot Osterman carded 88, while senior
Lena Kaufman rounded out the team's competition squad with a 95.
Siena will continue its Fall 2021 campaign with its first tournament action of the season in two weeks. The Saints will head to Canton, Massachusetts for the Boston College Intercollegiate on September 20 & 21.
