BLOOMFIELD, CT – Siena Women's Golf displayed a strong start to its third fall tournament of the season Saturday, shooting a competitive mark in the opening round of the Hartford Hawks Invitational at the Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut. The Saints carded +22, 310 as a team to land in third place, with junior
Emily Nash leading the way individually.
Through 18 holes on the Par-72, 5,841-yard course, Merrimack (+13, 301) leads the way in the seven-team field, while MAAC counterparts Fairfield (4
th) and Monmouth (7
th) also participated.
Nash shot +2, 74 to land in sole possession of third place individually and trail the lead by only three strokes entering the final round. Junior
Isabella Diaz went +3, 75 to land in a split for fourth. Freshman
Manoela Barcellos carded +8, 80 to split for 15
th, while classmate
Jillian Barend shot a stroke higher to tie for 19
th. Sophomore
Margot Osterman rounded out the team's competition squad at +26, 98 in 48
th, while senior
Lena Kaufman shot +11, 83 to tie for 28
th while playing as an individual.
Siena concludes action at the tournament on Sunday, September 26 at 9:00 AM.
