Volleyball Hosts Sunday Action Against Manhattan (WATCH)

Saints Look for Back-to-Back Victories in Matchup With Jaspers

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Volleyball team looks to make it two wins in a row on Sunday afternoon, as the Saints will host the Manhattan Jaspers at UHY Center. Opening serve for the MAAC matchup will start things up at 1 p.m.

Siena (1-13, 1-2) comes off of their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, as the Saints defeated the Iona Gaels by a final score of 3-2 at the UHY Center. Senior Maddy Dunigan had one of her best showings of the season, putting up 15 kills and four assisted blocks. The match would be Siena's third five-set matchup in their last five matches.

Dunigan's 15 kills are a new season-high, as she was one of four Saints with double-digit kills. Freshman Olga Sawinska added 12 kills, while Emily Wunder and Greta Stjade each finished with 10 kills. Stjade also chipped in 12 digs for her second double-double of the season. Junior Gracie Halley led the defensive effort with 17 digs, while Wunder added five assisted blocks. Running the offense to victory was sophomore Meghan Johnsson, as she finished with 45 total assists.

The Jaspers (0-6, 0-2) have struggled early on, dropping their last two MAAC matches to Iona and Marist last weekend by scores of 3-0. Manhattan has yet to win a set this season, falling 3-0 in all of their matches up to this point. Graduate student Erin Hoener leads the way offensively for the Jaspers with 31 total kills on the season, followed close by Julia Menocal with 29. Ashley Chan has taken over the libero duties, leading the way with 4.5 digs per set.
