LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Volleyball team continued their hot streak in MAAC play on Saturday afternoon, as they defeated the Manhattan Jaspers by a 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-19) to extend their winning streak to seven matches.

The seven-match streak is now the longest streak since 2014, when the Saints won nine matches in a row – a streak that led the Saints through the MAAC Championship en route to their last appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Emily Wunder led the Saints with 16 kills and four blocks, providing the boost Siena needed in the first set. Siena trailed early before turning the tables and taking a set one victory in a closely contested 25-23 score.

Sophomore
Sara Wagner led the Saints with 18 digs, while also putting up 10 kills for a double-double. As a team, the Saints hit .300 with just nine errors. Camila Gomez led Manhattan with 16 kills, while Sophia Lotto had 14 digs.

The Saints finished things off with commanding wins in both the second and third sets. Siena hit a match-high .423 in the third set, with Wunder and Wagner providing the offense at a high clip. A 9-1 run in the middle of the second aided the Saints 25-16 win in the frame, while the Green and Gold used a fast start in the third to maintain a lead throughout the final frame. Siena returns to action tomorrow, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. when they head to New Rochelle to take on Iona. The Gaels defeated the Saints in their MAAC opener at the UHY Center earlier this season.
