BLOOMFIELD, CT – Sophomore Jillian Barend ended the day tied for second individually as Siena Women's Golf began action at the Hartford Hawks Invitational on Monday.
Through one round of action at the Wintonbury Hills Golf Course in Bloomfield, Connecticut, the Saints (+43, 323) sit in seventh place, with MAAC counterparts Fairfield (2nd), Hartford (T-3rd), and UAlbany (5th) also participating.
Barend was one of four individuals who carded a round of +5, 75 to begin play on the par-70, 5,936-yard course and land five strokes off the lead. Senior Emily Nash tied for 25th on the day with a round of +11, 81, while classmate Isabella Diaz went for +13, 83 to split for 33rd. Freshman Mackenzie Whitney shot +14, 84 to tie for 38th, while sophomore Manoela Barcellos shot +15, 85 to tie for 43rd.
Siena will conclude its fourth tournament of the fall season on Tuesday, October 3rd beginning at 8:30 AM.
