Siena Volleyball concluded the last road trip of the 2023 campaign with a hard-fought, close 3-0 defeat (20-25, 19-25, 23-25) at the defending MAAC champions Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon at Burt Kahn Court.
The Saints (2-25, 2-15 MAAC) displayed high energy and a competitive spirit throughout, extending the match into longer sets on the Bobcats' Senior Day.
After trailing 16-6 in the opening set, Siena showed some resilience by rallying back with an 11-3 run to get within 19-17.

Sonja Meyer and an ace from
Sara Wagner.
A series of Quinnipiac miscues and kills from freshmen
Hannah Bowman and
Kayla Jones led the comeback attempt.
A kill by the Bobcats' Aryanah Diaz was answered by a kill from Saints freshman
Ella Treasure.
Quinnipiac closed it by winning six of the final eight points highlighted by a kill from Ginevra Giovagnoni.
In the second set, Siena used 6-0 and 5-0 runs to take a 17-12 advantage.
Among the key plays during the spurts included three kills from Wagner, back-to-back aces from
Emily Wood and a pair of kills from Meyer.
The Bobcats ran off nine of the last 10 points of the set capped on a kill from Alexandra Tennon off a feed from Giovagnoni.
Siena had opportunities in the third set as well, tying the match at 15-all on a kill by Wagner and briefly took a 17-16 lead after a Quinnipiac attacking error.
Sina Toroslu put down a kill and a bad set by the Bobcats locked the score at 21 apiece.
Meyer's kill tied it again, at 22-all.
Quinnipiac won three of the final four points with a Siena attack error, a kill from Giovagnoni and a finishing point by Diaz.
The Bobcats (17-8, 13-3 MAAC) hit .275 for the match while Siena hit .179 as a team. Giovagnoni led Quinnipiac with 15 kills while Damla Gunes had 28 assists.
Wagner led the Saints with nine kills, three assists and an ace.
Claire Isaksen had 15 assists and five digs.
Oliwia Majtyka had 10 assists and seven digs.
Emily Wood had a team-high 12 digs.
The freshmen combined for 19 of the team's 31 kills (Meyer and Jones had six kills apiece while Treasure had four kills and Bowman registered three kills).
Siena concludes its season this Saturday at 2 p.m. at the UHY Center hosting Marist (13-14, 11-5 MAAC) on Senior Day.
