WEST HARTFORD, CT – Siena Softball returned to weekend action on a high note Friday afternoon, blanking Hartford, 8-0, in six innings at the Hartford Softball Field in West Hartford, Connecticut.
The Saints (11-5) held a 12-3 hits advantage while recording their second run-rule victory of the year. After a pair of scoreless innings to begin action, a two RBI single up the middle from graduate student

Emma McLaughlin in the fourth, while senior
Shannon Bonewit followed with an RBI single to plate classmate
Jocelyn Ulrich later in the inning to make it 4-0.
Pardo crossed on a Fitzmaurice sacrifice fly in the fifth, while a solo shot from Ulrich further extended the lead in the sixth to 6-0. An RBI ground out from Bonewit and an RBI single from Pardo sealed the deal for the Green and Gold later in the inning.
Pardo finished the day 3-4 with two runs and an RBI to lead Siena offensively, while Fitzmaurice (4-2) took home the win in the circle with no runs allowed in two hits and seven strikeouts. Senior
Allison Speshyock struck out one and allowed just a single hit in one and two-thirds innings thereafter.
Siena and Hartford will wrap the weekend with a doubleheader beginning at Noon on Saturday, March 18.
