Lipscomb Stuns Saints in Final Seconds

Bisons Rally With Three Second Half Goals Including Game-Winner in Waning Seconds

NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb overcame a two-goal halftime deficit and scored the game-winner with just five seconds remaining to hand Siena Women's Soccer a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat in the Music City.

With just 15 seconds to go, Lucy Ream controlled a Siena (0-3-1) goal kick for Lipscomb (1-3) and quickly sent a long service into the box. A cutting Kiara Pralle got the first touch and, before colliding with the keeper, popped a shot over the top and in for the winning score.

The Bisons held a commanding 29-12 shot advantage and an 8-3 margin in corners, but it was the Saints who controlled the match early on. Siena scored both early and late in the first half to take a 2-0 advantage into the break.

The Saints struck less than five minutes in when Abby Daly sent Megan Stowell into the box. Stowell turned and fed a cutting Micaiah Croce who one-timed home her first collegiate goal into the top right corner.

The freshmen Daly and Stowell connected again in the 39th minute to pad the Siena advantage. Daly once again served a cutting Stowell who got free in the box and finished her first career tally.

But Lipscomb battled back in the second half, peppering the Siena goal with 17 shots in the stanza alone. Logan McFadden got the Bisons on the board in the 56th minute, before Kelli Beiler knotted the score on a penalty kick in the 70th minute.

Angela Fini made eight saves in a yeomanlike effort in goal for the Saints.

Siena returns to the Capital Region from its two-match southern swing to host defending America East Champion New Hampshire Thursday at 4 p.m. at Hickey Field.
