Teresa Seppala took home her first-ever MAAC Player of the Week award, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
The Third Team Preseason All-MAAC selection and 2023 MAAC All-Rookie Team honoree averaged 24 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor, 6-10 from long range, and 10-12 from the free throw line over two games last week.She went for a career-high 29 points while adding six rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal against Fairfield, and then led the Saints to a road win at Saint Peter's on Saturday with 19 points, eight boards, one assist, one block, and two steals.
The Tempere, Finland native currently ranks second in the MAAC among qualifying players in free throw percentage (77 percent) and leads the team in scoring (13.2 PPG), three-point percentage (35.6 percent) and free throw makes (67). Anajah Brown, and recorded her eighth collegiate MAAC weekly honor after winning seven MAAC Rookie of the Week honors last season.
Siena returns home to host a pair of MAAC foes this week, aiming for season sweeps over Marist on Thursday, February 29 at 7 PM, and over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, March 2 at 5 PM at the UHY Center. Thursday's contest will serve as Irish Night to raise money for the team's recently-announced upcoming foreign tour of Ireland, while Saturday will serve as Siena's Senior Night to honor lone graduating senior
