The Siena Indoor Track & Field season got underway on Saturday at the Crowell Invitational at Gillis Field House on the campus of Army West Point and dominated both 3,000-meter events in the women and men's standings.
Senior
Mattingly O'Rourke won the women's 3,000-meter event by finishing in a brisk 10:28.24 as the Saints dominated the race and also took the second and third spots on the podium with junior
Faith Skowvron taking second in 10: 37.65 and senior
Julianna Tourangeau closing out in third at 10:45.66.
Junior
Marissa Navarra was fifth (11:01.97) and junior
Olivia Armenia took sixth place (11:21.82).
In the men's 3,000-meter race, freshman
Austin Ferrin also took back first place with a sterling run of 8:32.74.
Junior
Tyler Tkaczyk was runner-up with a run of 8:52.65 and
Jake Passalugo took third place with a showing of 8:55.75.
Noah Johnson was also fifth with a time of 9:14.67.
The Saints also had a trio of third-place finishes.
In the women's one-mile event, sophomore
Maris Potter shined with a third-place finish at 5:38.47 closely followed by teammate Olivia Schafer (5:45.03) in fourth place.
Elizabeth Coyne was ninth (6:21.58).
Another podium finisher was sophomore
Ralston Frattarola who finished the men's 800-meter in 2:03.58 for third place.
In the men's one-mile event, junior
Cormac Leahy ran it in 4:25.41 for a bronze finish.
Siena will be back in competition on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University.
