As part of its Saturday split in Madeira Beach, FL, Saturday afternoon, Siena Softball defeated Chattanooga 2-1 in its opening game of the day - snapping UTC's 14-game winning streak which was tied for the fifth-longest in the program's history. The Saints later fell to LIU, 9-6.

Kaycie Kennedy worked through an error and a walk with one out to escape the top of the first unarmed while the offense supported her with a run in the bottom half.
Chloe Cummings started the Siena half reaching on an error before moving over to second base on a bunt.
Gracie Goewey delivered on a base hit up the middle to score Cummings from second for an early 1-0 lead.
Kennedy cruised through the second and third, allowing one hit in each inning while keeping the Mocs off the board. In the fourth, however, UTC found the board with a one out solo home run to even the score. Kennedy retired the next two batters to send the Saints to the home half looking for their first run since the first inning.
While Siena came up empty in its half of the inning, the Green and Gold made right on Kennedy's performance come the bottom of the sixth. With two outs and pinch-runner

Ashley Giampolo delivered a single to right field for the go-ahead score as the Saints took a 2-1 lead into the top of the 7th.
There, Kennedy worked around a one-out bunt single and set the final two Mocs down to secure the complete game win.
LIU 9, Siena 6
A quiet first inning from both teams followed by an empty second by the Saints led to a five-run showing from the Sharks in the home half. Including a two-run home run, the first six batters reached base as the five spot came across on just two hits.
Siena took a couple runs off in the top of the third when
Chloe Cummings scored
Gianna DiMeglio on a sacrifice fly, and
McKenzie Swinson drove in
Lauren Melton on a double to the left field gap. LIU answered with one in the bottom half to lead 6-2 after three full.
Picking it up in the top of the sixth with the Saints still trailing by four,
Gracie Goewey reentered the game and belted her team-leading third home run of the season to bring the Saints within three.
Emma Petersen immediately followed with a double while
Cali DeLawder kept the line moving, bringing Petersen in on a single to center.
Down by two with DeLawder on second after advancing on the throw,
Ashley Giampolo connected for her first home run of the season - tying the game at 6-6 which is how the score would stay moving into the LIU half of the inning.
There, the Sharks loaded the bases with no outs and made the most of the opportunity, bringing in three runs by the time the frame came to a close. The Saints went down in order in the seventh to put a stamp on the team's second game of the day.
