LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Soccer played with an 11-on-10 advantage for the final 75 minutes, but needed some last-minute heroics from its captain to break through.
Abby Daly blasted home the match-winner in the 86
th minute to rally the Saints past Holy Cross 2-1 on Hickey Field.
Siena (2-1) seemed to have the table set early when the Holy Cross (0-2-1) keeper was sent off on a red card in the 15
th minute, but the shorthanded Crusaders cashed in just 79 seconds later on a Charlotte Hanchar re-direct off a long feed in from Olivia Perez.

With time winding down, Daly played the hero, roofing home a 35-yard blast through the hands of the keeper for the decisive score. Each of the junior's last three goals dating back to last season have now been scored in the 86
th minute or later, including a pair of match-winners and a tying tally.
Cate Burns made four saves for the Saints who are now unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 matches vs. Holy Cross (8-1-2) dating back to 2006.
Meredith Zematis made seven saves in relief in goal for Holy Cross.
Siena held a 16-15 edge in shots, while the Crusaders harbored an 8-1 advantage in corners.
The Saints continue their season-long three-match homestand – and stretch of four of five in Loudonville to open the season – when they host Bryant Sunday at 4 p.m. on Hickey Field.
