LOUDONVILLE, NY — Siena Softball (15-9, 8-3 MAAC) completed a dominant doubleheader sweep of Saint Peter's (4-19, 1-10 MAAC) at Siena Softball Field, following up a 5–1 victory in the opener with a convincing 7–1 win in game two.

Siena wasted no time responding to an early deficit, answering Saint Peter's first-inning run to even the score.
Megan Klein sparked the offense with a single before advancing to third on
Chloe Cummings' sacrifice bunt.
Emma Petersen brought her home with a groundout to tie the game at 1–1.
The Saints broke things open in the fourth inning with a decisive three-run frame.
Gracie Goewey reached on a walk and moved into scoring position before
Gianna DiMeglio delivered an RBI single to right. Siena capitalized on defensive miscues from Saint Peter's, plating two additional runs in the inning to take a 4–1 lead.
Siena added an insurance run in the fifth, again taking advantage of pressure on the basepaths. Klein worked a walk and eventually scored on a throwing error after Petersen singled, extending the lead to 5–1.
Violet Marta turned in a strong performance in the circle, tossing a complete game while allowing just four hits and one earned run. The sophomore struck out six and walked two, keeping Saint Peter's in check throughout the afternoon.

The Saints carried their momentum into game two, using timely hitting and aggressive baserunning to secure the sweep.
After a scoreless first three innings, Saint Peter's briefly took a 1–0 lead in the fourth. Siena quickly responded in the bottom half, as Petersen's double ignited the rally. Goewey reached on an error, and pinch runner
Mckenzie Faherty came around to score on DiMeglio's single.
Cali DeLawder followed with another base hit to give Siena a 2–1 advantage.
The Saints broke the game open in the fifth inning. Klein singled and later scored on Petersen's RBI knock, while Siena continued to capitalize on defensive errors to extend the lead. DiMeglio added an RBI double in the frame, pushing the advantage to 5–1.
Siena tacked on two more runs in the sixth, highlighted by heads-up baserunning and continued pressure on the Peacock defense, which committed five errors in the contest.
Goewey was dominant in the circle, throwing a complete game while allowing just one earned run on six hits. She struck out four and walked two over seven innings, delivering a steady 90-pitch performance to secure the win.
Siena returns to action at home in Loudonville on Friday, Apr. 3, hosting Rider in a MAAC doubleheader beginning at noon.
