Siena University Rugby Eyes National Bid at Fairfield 7s National Qualifier

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena University Men's Rugby team travels to Fairfield, CT this weekend for their third National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) National Qualifier of the spring 7s season. Led by Captain Luca Holloway, the Saints enter the tournament with momentum, seeking to secure a definitive bid to the NCR National Championship.

The Fairfield 7s features a high-stakes format with four pools of three teams each. Siena has been drawn into a challenging Pool D, where they will face off against regional powerhouse St. Bonaventure and Harvard University.

The tournament field is one of the most competitive of the season, featuring top-ranked contenders including Walsh University, Dartmouth, Kutztown, and Brown University. Following pool play, teams will move into bracket play to compete for the Cup, Bowl, or Shield Championships. Each side is guaranteed a minimum of four matches.

Siena University Pool Play Schedule:
10:20 AM: Siena vs. Harvard
12:20 PM: Siena vs. St. Bonaventure
1:20 PM: Championship Bracket Play Begins

"We are heading into this qualifier with a high level of confidence," said Head Coach Jaco Visser. "The competition in Pool D is elite, but our preparation this spring has put us in a position to compete with the best. We're focused on execution and securing our spot on the national stage."
