LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Basketball Head Coach
Terry Primm has announced the signing of Spanish forward Alazne Canales to join the Saints program ahead of the 2026-27 season.
A native of Arrasate, Spain, Canales brings international experience and a proven track record of production to Loudonville after developing through some of Spain's top youth programs.
"Alazne brings a great combination of international experience, skill, and competitive spirit to our program," said Primm. "She has developed in one of Europe's outstanding basketball environments and has consistently challenged herself against high-level competition. Beyond her talent, what stood out throughout the recruiting process was her passion for improvement, her basketball IQ, and her willingness to embrace new challenges. We believe she fits our style of play and the culture we're building, and we're excited to welcome her to the family and see the impact she'll make both on and off the court!"
Canales most recently competed for Ointxe! Mondragon, where she averaged 14 points and 22 rebounds per game, establishing herself as one of the club's most dominant interior players.
She developed through the Elite Sports Academy before earning time with the Gipuzkoa junior regional team and later joining Ointxe! Mondragon. Canales has also competed in FIBA 3x3 tournaments and represented the Basque Country at the U20 level, where she earned Most Valuable Player honors.
Canales becomes the latest addition to Siena's 2026 signing class as the Saints continue to build for the upcoming season under Primm.
