Catherine Rogers goals. Two clean sheet victories. Rogers ran her scoring streak to eight straight dating back to last season with a fifth minute tally to propel Siena Women's Soccer to a 1-0 triumph over crosstown rival UAlbany.
For the second straight contest, Rogers and
Anna Swyers connected on a decisive early Siena (2-1) score. Swyers made a run down the right side and centered a feed which was misplayed by the keeper and cleaned up by Rogers to put the Saints on top just 4:08 in.
Cate Burns made three saves to secure her second straight shutout for Siena, which ran its unbeaten streak over its crosstown rivals to five straight (3-0-2).
The Saints held a 13-7 advantage in shots and a 5-1 margin in corners to improve to 12-2-5 over their past 19 matches on Hickey Field.
Claudia Volino stopped seven shots for UAlbany (0-2).
Siena concludes non-conference action with a season-long, three-match road trip beginning at Bryant Sunday at 1 p.m.
