LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Golf will open the 2026-27 season Friday, Sept. 18, taking on crosstown rival UAlbany in the annual Crosstown Challenge at Pinehaven Country Club. The Saints and Great Danes will compete in a single round of 18 holes, with play set to begin at 11 a.m.
Friday's season opener marks the beginning of a new era for Siena, as the Saints tee off in the first season under head coach Scott Warren. Siena returns four players from last year's squad in
Emely Kintzel,
Emily Rensch,
Isabella Silva, and
Chelsea Woods.
The Saints also welcome freshman
Kyla Quimby to the lineup. A two-time conference champion at Wilson High School, Quimby enters her collegiate career with championship experience and a recent connection to the Siena program. In June, Quimby teamed with Rensch to capture the Pennsylvania Golf Association (PAGA) 6th Women's Four-Ball Championship at Moselem Springs Golf Club.
Siena's fall schedule continues with four additional tournaments, including two more events in September and a pair in October.
UAlbany enters Friday's matchup following a successful 2025-26 campaign that included two team tournament victories and a third-place finish at the MAAC Championship. The Great Danes opened last season by defeating Siena in the Crosstown Challenge before adding tournament titles at the Le Moyne College Invitational and Howard Lady Bison Spring Invitational. UAlbany returns a veteran core led by seniors Nicole Criscone and Callie Taylor, along with juniors Mia Cepeda, Jessica Brown, and Madison Kuratani.
Siena will return to action Sept. 21-22 at the Red Bandana Invitational at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts.
