th minute was the difference between a pair of Metro Conference contenders who each entered the week ranked in the top-90 nationally in the RPI.
Siena (6-3-1, 2-2) put six of its second half shots on target, but Julia Poissant was credited with eight total saves to register the clean sheet for Niagara (6-2, 3-1).
The Saints held a 14-9 shot advantage overall and a 6-4 margin in corners.
Catherine Rogers led the way offensively with five shots – four of which were on target – for Siena which has now dropped back-to-back contests following a seven-match unbeaten streak.
Cate Burns made a pair of saves for the Saints.
Siena will now have 10 days to recalibrate before returning to action at defending conference champion Sacred Heart next Saturday, Oct. 3 at noon in Connecticut.
