LOUDONVILLE, N.Y - Siena College unveiled the recently completed Callanan Field House Team Room Addition Tuesday evening in an exclusive showing to the donors and supporters who made its construction possible. President Fr. Kevin E. Mackin and Director of Athletics John D'Argenio led a tour through the $1 million project that houses Siena's baseball, softball and men's and women's soccer teams, and includes the state-of-the-art 32-seat Turchi Theater. The renovation of the men's and women's basketball team room was part of the project as well.

"The additions and renovations to Callanan Field House directly benefits all our student athletes, and will have a lasting impact on the future of Siena athletics," D'Argenio told the crowd of about 50 supporters. "Clearly this project would not have been possible without the support and vision of our donors."

D'Argenio singled out the leadership of the project's main donors, beginning with a lead gift given by Callanan Industries.

Speaking on behalf of Callanan, President Ciaran Brennan referenced the relationship his company has formed with the College. "We value our friendship with Siena College and are thrilled to have been able to play an active role in the construction of this beautiful facility," Brennan said.

In addition, several coaches and student-athletes were on hand to express their gratitude and speak first hand on the benefits the new facility provides.

Several supporters also stepped forward in support of the individual team rooms. The athletic department recognized their contributions by bestowing their name on a plaque in front of the room each sponsored. Those recognized include: Patrick Caruso '74 (men's basketball team room), Walter Kicinski '62 (women's basketball team room), Harold Groom '68 (women's soccer team room), John Leonard '64 (men's soccer team room) and Gino and Willie Turchi (Turchi Theater). Members of the Saints Alive! Advisory Council collaborated for the naming rights for the softball team room. Sixteen former Siena baseball players who went on to play professionally helped finance the baseball team room.

The evening concluded with a reception in the lobby of the Marcelle Athletic Complex (MAC).

The four new team rooms and the Turchi Theater are located at the north end of the Callanan Field House. The renovated men's and women's basketball team rooms remain adjacent to the Alumni Recreation Center on the east end of the playing court.
