Academic Integrity

July 19, 2004

Members present: Buff, Cheryl; Blot, Michelle; Nevarez, Lisa; Paulli, Fr. Kenneth; Serbalik, James; Putnick, Len The meeting was held on July 19th, at 1:00 p.m., in room 308 of Roger Bacon. The self study operating principle on Academic Support has been completed. We are still waiting for admissions to identify the right cohort so that we can complete the operating principle on Academic Standards. Once admissions has done this, we should be able to get data from Banner to complete the tables required by the NCAA. This will give us an indication of any change in trends in the academic quality of the student athlete and any change in the graduation rates. Since we have many more teams receiving scholarship funds now than we did during the first certification, the job is more difficult now. The Operating Principle on Scheduling is the last we have to complete. Assignments are as follows: Self-Study items 2 and 3: Len Putnick
Self-Study items 5: Cheryl Buff
Self-Study items 6: Lisa Nevarez
Self-Study items 7: Jim Serbalik
Self-Study items 8: Ken Paulli
When we complete the study we will still need to: 1. Answer the questions on Academic Standards, Academic Support, and Scheduling at the end of the self study. 2. Come up with any recommendations we feel are appropriate based on the self study.
