Siena College announced the hiring of Jennifer Valore as sports information/marketing assistant today. Valore will assist with the publicity and promotion of Siena's 19-sport Division I program, serving as the primary media contact for women's basketball.
A 2000 graduate of James Madison University with a degree in kinesiology, Valore went on to earn a master's degree in communication in August 2002 from Drexel University. At Drexel, she held a two-year graduate position in the sports information office. Prior to assuming this post, she interned in the marketing departments of James Madison University and Drexel University, respectively.
"Jennifer is an ambitious individual with a strong background in both sports information and marketing," Director of Athletics John D'Argenio said. "Those involved in her hiring were confident she would fit right in with the Siena community and add insight and creativity to the position."
Valore, who has spent the past three months coaching for Tri-State Lacrosse in New Jersey, was a four-year letterwinner for the nationally ranked James Madison University lacrosse team that made four consecutive NCAA appearances, including a trip to the 2000 Final Four, and captured two conference championships.
A 2000 team captain at JMU, Valore served on the school's student athlete council as a four-year academic honor roll member. A native of Moorestown, N.J., she was named the South Jersey Collegiate Defender of the Year in 2000.
