Strength & Conditioning Internships

Varsity Weight Room Undergraduate Internship:

POSSIBLE CLASS CREDIT

  • Siena Students in the Health Studies Major can Receive up to 3 academic credits per semester
  • Student will be responsible for approximately 10 hours per week
  • Reports to Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • If Assistant Coach is not available, they will report to the second Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

DUTIES

  •  Attend team workouts and observe how the strength coaches do their job
  • Attend office hours in which they will observe how periodization and programming are laid out for the sport teams
  • Attend Continuing Education Sessions run by the Strength Staff
  • The strength staff with run bi-weekly continuing education sessions that will help the intern learn more about the field
  • The intern will also run one session of their own, per semester
  • Assist with Fueling Station and Social Media
    • The intern will help stock items and make sure everything is organized
    • The intern will help contribute to the Strength & Conditioning social media pages
  • Help Set Up and Tear Down Team Workouts
  • The intern will help strength staff set up the weight room prior to team workouts, as well as clean up after the session is over
    • Clean and Organize the Varsity Weight Room
    • Wipe Down/Clean Equipment, Organize Equipment, etc
