2021-22 (GRADUATE STUDENT):
  • MAAC All-Academic Team & MAAC Academic Honor Roll member
  • Ran in seven cross country, six indoor track, and seven outdoor track events
  • Ran a personal best in the 8k (24:52.6) at the Paul Short Run on October 1
  • Placed 19th at the 2021 MAAC Cross Country Championships
  • Finished 86th at the 2021 NCAA Division I Northeast Region Cross Country Championships
  • Earned All-IC4A honors with a 30th place finish at the 2021 IC4A Cross Country Championships
  • Ran a personal best in the mile (4:42.38) at the Utica Winter Opener on January 15
  • Logged a personal best in the 3,000 (8:37.59) at the Hemery Valentine Invitational 
  • Finished eighth in the 5,000 at the 2022 MAAC Indoor Track Championships
  • Ran a personal best in the 5,000 (14:32.08) with a 21st place finish at the 2021 IC4A Indoor Track Championships
  • Logged a personal best in the 1,500 (4:06.82) at the Monmouth Season Opener on March 25
  • Ran a personal best in the 10,000 (31:15.62) in the Bison Outdoor Classic Finished 18th in the 10k at the 2022 MAAC Outdoor Track Championships
  • Placed 32nd in the 5k at the 2022 IC4A Outdoor Track Championships
2020-21 (SENIOR):
  • Served as a team captain
  • Placed 23rd at the MAAC Men's Cross Country Championships
  • Participated in five outdoor track events
  • Took 13th in the 10,000 meter race at the MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
  • Placed 23rd in the 10,000 meter race at the ECAC/IC4A Championships
2019-20 (JUNIOR):
  • Given the team's Men's Cross Country Most Improved award
  • Competed in six cross country and five indoor track events
  • Placed 19th at the MAAC Cross Country Championships
  • Competed at the NCAA Division 1 Northeast Region Cross Country Championships
  • Set a personal best in the 3000m at the Kane Invitational on February 1 (8:56.17)
  • Set a personal best in the 5000m at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on February 14 (14:58.08)
  • Placed 12th in the 5000m race at the MAAC Indoor Track Championships
2018-19 (SOPHOMORE):
  • Competed in four cross country meets, four indoor track events and six outdoor track meets
  • Ran a personal best 27:10.1 in the five-mile race at the National Catholic Invitational on Sept. 14
  • Placed first in the 5000-meter race at the Wagner College Invitational on March 23
  • Ran a personal best 15:08.32 in the 5000-meter race at the Bison Outdoor Classic on April 13
  • Ran a personal best 4:12.13 in the 1500-meter race at the Bobbi Palmer UAlbany spring classic on April 19
  • Placed sixth in the 10,000-meter race at the MAAC Outdoor Championships, running a personal best time of 31:23.26
  • Placed 18th in the 10,000 meter-race at the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track Championships on May 11
2017-18 (FRESHMAN):
  • Competed in six cross country events, four indoor track meets and two outdoor track events 
  • Ran a personal best in the 6k with a 20:06.3 at the Siena Short Course Twilight Meet on Sept. 1
  • Ran a personal best 26:19.4 in the 8k at the Paul Short Open on Sept. 29
  • Qualified for the IC4A / ECAC XC Championships in the five-mile race, placing 147th with a 27:58.6
  • Ran a personal best 9:15.14 in the 3000-meter race at the Cornell Upstate Challenge on Jan. 20
BEFORE SIENA:
  • Third at the Shen Invitational in the 3200m
  • Fourth in the 3200m at the Eddy Meet
  • Personal best 15:50 time in the 5km
  • Holds a 9:37 time for the 3200m
  • Boasts a 4:33 finish for the 1600m
PERSONAL:

  • Son of Michael and Christine Canavan
  • Has a brother, Andrew, who was on the Siena cross country & track team from 2015-19
  • Father ran marathons and older brother is competing post-collegiately 
  • Majoring in software development
  • Chose Siena for its great academic and athletic programs
