One of the state’s top cross-country runners finished 26^th overall at the New York State Cross Country Championships.
Also had a time of 2:23.33 in the 800m, a 4:48.93 in the 1500m, and a 10:17.23 in the 3000M.
Tjersland was part of Hauppauge school history with a record-breaking performance as a member of the girls’ 4x800 meter relay team on running under the 10-minute mark in the Coach Saint Invitational held at the Armory Track in New York City in December of 2025.
